National Moment of Remembrance - Associations and Trade Unions

Memorial Day...........A day that conjures up patriotic images and thoughts........duty, honor, country. These are words that have a special meaning to your rank and file membership. Many in your organizations are probably veterans themselves and if they are not they have fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or cousins that have answered the call to service when their Nation needed them most.

Now that Memorial Day approaches, it is time to reflect on the sacrifice made by these brave men and women. It is important for all Americans to stop remember their sacrifice. It is time to consider how their fight for freedom has impacted our everyday lives and how their service has made this country a better place. That is why we are asking people to get involved in the "National Moment of Remembrance". That is why we are asking people to care. At 3:00 p.m. (local time) on May 29 there will be a one minute pause to honor those who have given their lives in service to this great Nation.

There are also other ways to get involved for Memorial Day. Listed below are suggestions on how to involve associations and trade unions as Memorial Day approaches. Get involved. Your participation will truly make the "National Moment of Remembrance" a "Moment to Remember".
