The following list shows metropolitan areas with populations of more than 250,000 in 1995 according to the Census Bureau. Populations are rounded to thousands. For EPAct and E.O. 13031 alternative-fuel vehicle purposes, "covered" Federal fleets are those in MSAs, PMSAs, or NECMAs with populations of more than 250,000. (PMSAs of less than 250,000, even if they are within CMSAs of more than 250,000, are exempt.)
