Lauren M. Supina
Lauren Supina serves as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director
of the Office for Women's Initiatives and Outreach. In this capacity, she is
responsible for directing, managing and overseeing outreach efforts, daily
operations and staff activities of the Women's Office and reporting to
President Clinton on issues relating to women and families.
Before joining the Clinton Administration, Ms. Supina was Director of
External Relations for Ameritech in Chicago. In that position, Ms. Supina
created linkages between the Chicago-based telecommunications company and the
Chicago Business, non-profit and cultural community. Prior to her position at
Ameritech, Ms. Supina was the founding director of the Democratic National
Committee's Women's Leadership Forum (WLF). Under her leadership, the WLF grew
from a core group of 10 women into a 15,000 member organization with chapters
in every major U.S. city.
Ms. Supina is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin with a BA
in Government. She has served on numerous community boards and has
been active in several community-based projects.
