National Moment of Remembrance - Faces of Sacrifice

Freedom has a face. It is the face of every man and woman that has served this country. We know that freedom is not free. It comes with a price. It is the price of hopes and dreams that are lost when loved ones pay the ultimate sacrifice while serving this great Nation. It is important that we not forget these American heroes. Pictures help us to connect to these people. We see a picture and through the image we can almost feel the person's pain or their determination. It is these recorded images that provide a lasting history. They capture for one moment what these brave men and women were feeling. They represent a "face of sacrifice."
