                     STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

     Dutch Prime Minister Kok has accepted President Clinton?s invitation
to come to Washington for an official working visit on September 28.
During the visit the President and Prime Minister Kok will discuss a
variety of transatlantic issues, including US-EU relations, security,
cooperation on climate change, and joint efforts to combat drug
trafficking.  The two leaders will also discuss our nations? mutual
interests in the Middle East, the Balkans, and Africa.
