PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES GERALD S. SEGAL AS CHAIR AND MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL
                           COUNCIL ON DISABILITY

     The President today announced his intent to nominate Gerald S. Segal
to serve as a Member of the National Council on Disability.

     Mr. Gerald R. Segal, of Haverford, Pennsylvania, is currently a
partner in the law firm of Segal, Wolf, Berk, Gaines & Liss. He is also
President of Fight for Sight of Greater Philadelphia.  He is a member of
several boards of directors, including the Magee Rehabilitation Hospital,
Temple University Law School Alumni and the Philadelphia Geriatric Center.
Mr. Segal is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Man of Vision
Award from the Fight for Sight of Greater Philadelphia, the 1994 Fund
Raising Volunteer of the Year Award from the National Society of Fund
Raising Executives, and the Founder?s Award of American Friends of Haifa
University.  He is also the founder of the Jerry Segal Classic for the
Benefit of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital.

     Mr. Segal received a B.A. from Drexel University and a J.D. from
Temple Law School.

     The National Council on Disability is responsible for promoting the
integration, independence and productivity of individuals with disabilities
in the community, schools, and the workplace.  In the fulfillment of this
mission, the Council evaluates the effectiveness of federal government
programs and statutes concerning individuals with disabilities.
