 PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES YENI WONG AS A MEMBER OF THE INTERSTATE COMMISSION ON
                            THE POTOMAC RIVER BASIN

     The President today announced his intent to appoint Yeni Wong to serve as a
member of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin.

     Ms. Yeni Wong, of Washington, DC, is actively involved in the business
arena and in community affairs.  Ms. Wong,s business affiliations include former
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Strasburger and Siegel Inc., President and
Chairman of the Riverdale International Inc., and Member of the Board of
Directors of the North American Chinese Restaurant Association.  Additionally,
her community affiliations include former Chairman of the Board of Directors,
Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Alliance and Chairman of the Board of Directors
of the Temple of Cun Yum.  Ms. Wong received the Business Award twice from the
DC Chamber of Commerce.  Prior to establishing her own businesses, Ms. Wong was
a research chemist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a consultant for
the U.S. Brewer,s Association. Ms. Wong was also appointed to the JFK Center
Advisory Committee on the Arts on June 1999 and she continues to serve as Member
of the Committee. Ms. Wong is also a member the Board of Directors of the
National Museum of Women in the Arts.

     Ms. Wong received a B.A. from Tunghai University in Taiwan, a M.S. in
Chemistry from Kent State University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the
University of Illinois.

     The Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin, which includes the
states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia,
is responsible for the utilization, development, pollution and conservation of
water and associated land resources of the Potomac River Basin.  The Commission
carries out its work in several related programs: water supply, water resources,
water quality, public education, and living resources.
