President Clinton today announced his intent to appoint Craig J. Mundie as a member of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
Mr. Craig J. Mundie, of Redmond, Washington, currently serves as senior vice president of Consumer Strategy at Microsoft. In this capacity, he reports to the chairman and works with him on developing a comprehensive strategy for Microsoft's offerings to consumers and, in addition, coordinates implementation of the products and services across all Microsoft product groups. Mr. Mundie is also responsible for developing and maintaining Microsoft's relationships with major strategic alliances in the consumer electronic arena. Prior to joining Microsoft in 1992, Mr. Mundie was a co-founder and CEO of Alliant Computer Systems Corp.
Mr. Mundie received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology.
The President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) was established under Executive Order 12382 to provide the President with technical information and advice on national security telecommunications policy.
