Warren B. Rudman, Chairman. Senator Rudman, of Hollis, New Hampshire, is a partner in the Washington law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. He served as a U.S. Senator from 1980 to 1992, where he was a member of the Select Committee on Intelligence. He previously was Attorney General of the State of New Hampshire.


General Lew Allen, Jr., USAF (Ret.). General Allen, of Pasadena, California, served as Chief of Staff of the Air Force and Director of the National Security Agency. He retired in 1991 as a Vice President of the California Institute of Technology and Director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He was a member of President Bush's PFIAB.


Cresencio S. Arcos, Jr. Ambassador Arcos, of Coral Gables, Florida, is Regional Vice President, International Public Affairs for AT&T Corporation in Miami. His last position was Senior Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Crime from 1993 to 1995. He also served as American Ambassador to Honduras from 1989 to 1993. Mr. Arcos is listed in Who's Who in the World, America, the South, the Southwest and Among Hispanics.


Zoe Baird. Ms. Baird, of Darien Connecticut, is President of the Markle Foundation in New York City. Until the end of 1996, she was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Aetna, Inc., and for the year 1997 she was Senior Visiting Scholar and Senior Research Affiliate at Yale Law School. Ms. Baird previously was Counselor and Staff Executive for General Electric Corporation; a partner in the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers; Associate Counsel to President Jimmy Carter; and an attorney in the Office of Legal Counsel, Department of Justice.


John Shelby Bryan. Mr. Bryan, of New York, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, ICG Communications, Inc. Mr. Bryan co-founded Millicom International Cellular S.A., a publicly owned corporation providing international cellular service, and served as its president and CEO from 1985 to 1994.


Ann Z. Caracristi. Ms. Caracristi, of Washington, DC, is a former Deputy Director of the National Security Agency, where she served in a variety of senior management positions over a 40 year career. She recently chaired a DCI Task Force on intelligence training and was a member of the DCI/Secretary of Defense Joint Security Commission.


Sidney D. Drell. Dr. Drell, of Palo Alto, California, is a Professor and Deputy Director of the Stanford University Linear Accelerator Center. He is an Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and has served as a scientific consultant and advisor to several Congressional committees, the Departments of Defense and Energy, and the White House.


Stephen Friedman. Mr. Friedman, of New York, New York, is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Columbia University, Chairman of the Executive Committee of The Brookings Institution and a member of the Executive Committee of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He served as a member of the Commission on the Roles and Capabilities of the U.S. Intelligence community ("Aspin/Brown Commission"); and the Jeremiah Panel that studied the National Reconnaissance Office.


Robert J. Hermann. Dr. Hermann of Hartford, Connecticut , is Senior Partner, Global Technology Partners, LLC. He retired as Senior Vice President for Science and Technology of the United Technologies Corporation in March 1998. He is a former Director of the Defense Department's National Reconnaissance Office and a former senior official at the National Security Agency.


Harold W. Pote. Mr. Pote, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a founding partner of The Beacon Group, a private investment firm, and a Trustee of Drexel University. He is a former Chief Executive Officer of Fidelcor, Inc., a major regional bank holding company in Philadelphia, and a former founding partner of PBS Properties of Pennsylvania.


Lois D. Rice. Ms. Rice, of Washington, DC, is a Guest Scholar in the Economics Studies Program at the Brookings Institution. She is a former Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at the Control Data Corporation and a former Vice President of the College Board (CEEB).


Stanley S. Shuman. Mr. Shuman, of New York City is the Executive Vice President, Managing Director and Member of the Executive Committee of Allen & Company Incorporated where he is involved in investment banking and corporate finance. He is the longest sitting private member of the Financial Control Board of the City of New York.


Maurice Sonnenberg. Mr. Sonnenberg, of New York, is the Senior International Advisor to the investment banking firm of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. as well as the Senior International Advisor to the law firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. He is the Vice Chairman of the National Commission on Terrorism. He recently served as a member of the U.S. Commission on Reducing and Protecting Government Secrecy. He also served as as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Commission on the Roles and Capabilities of the U.S. Intelligence Community.
