  PRESIDENT CLINTON NAMES ROBERT N. SHAMANSKY AS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL
                         SECURITY EDUCATION BOARD

     President Clinton yesterday nominated Robert N. Shamansky as a member
of the National Security Education Board.

     Mr. Robert N. Shamansky, of Columbus, Ohio, is of Counsel and former
Partner in the law firm of Benesch, Friedlnder, Coplan and Aronoff.  Mr.
Shamansky is former member of the United States House of Representatives,
representing the 12th District of Ohio from 1981 to 1983.

     Mr. Shamansky received a B.A. from Ohio State University and a J.D.
from Harvard University.

     The primary objective of the National Security Education Board is to
meet the changing needs of national security education.  To achieve this
aim, the Board develops criteria for awarding of scholarships, fellowships,
and grants.  In addition, the Board recommends ways to encourage interest
in jobs in Government agencies that have a national security role.
