             PRESIDENT CLINTON NOMINATES SUSAN RITCHIE BOLTON,
                  MARY H. MURGUIA, AND JAMES A. TEILBORG
                           TO THE FEDERAL BENCH

     The President today nominated Susan Ritchie Bolton, Mary H. Murguia,
and James A. Teilborg to the U.S. District Court for the District of
Arizona.

     Susan Ritchie Bolton, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, has been a judge on
the Superior Court of Maricopa County, Arizona since 1989.  Prior to
assuming the state bench, Bolton was a partner (1982-1989) and associate
(1977-1982) at Shimmel, Hill, Bishop & Gruender.  Bolton received her B.A.
degree, with honors, from the University of Iowa in 1973 and her J.D.
degree, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law
in 1975.  Following law school, Bolton clerked for the Honorable Laurance
T. Wren of the Arizona State Court of Appeals (1975-1977).

     Mary H. Murguia, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been an Assistant U.S.
Attorney for the District of Arizona since 1990, and has served on detail
as the Director of the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys at the
Department of Justice since 1999.  Murguia previously served as that
office?s Principal Deputy Director (1999) and Counsel to the Director?s
Staff (1998-1999).  She began her legal career as an Assistant District
Attorney for the Wyandotte County District Attorney?s Office in Kansas
City, Kansas (1985-1990).  Murguia received her B.A. and B.S. degrees from
the University of Kansas in 1982 and her J.D. degree from the University of
Kansas Law School in 1985.

     James A. Teilborg, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been a shareholder at
Teilborg, Sanders & Parks since 1973.  Prior to assuming his current
position, Teilborg was a partner at Dunn & Teilborg (1972-1973) and an
associate at O?Connor, Cavanagh, Anderson, Westover, Killingsworth &
Beshears (1967-1972).  Teilborg attended Colorado State University and
Colorado State College from 1960 to 1963, and received his J.D. degree from
the University of Arizona College of Law in 1966.
