Holidays at the White House

THE GRAND FOYER

Look up to the ceiling of the Grand Foyer , and you will see theneedlepoint "kissing ball" created by master needlepoint artist, Hyla Hurley, and her assistants. This year, the kissing ball takes the shape of Santa and his sleigh flying off to delight childreneverywhere.

Adding to the holiday mood is Christopher Radko's re-creation of Santa's office which sits onthe pier table. Santa sits in his favorite chair, checking his list of good boys and girls, while twosprites give their assistance. The Christmas tree surrounded by gifts, and Santa's roll-top deskcomplete the festive scene.

The four Grand Foyer trees are decorated with festive ribbons, ribbon roses, glass pine cones andred balls.
