National Security Council

Intelligence Programs

Special Assistant to
the President and Senior Director

The office advises the President and National Security Advisor on intelligence issues in the context of U.S. foreign and defense policy. Among these issues are foreign intelligence priorities, imagery policy, counterintelligence and security, budget, Congressional liaison, encryption and other intelligence activities. The office also works with the Intelligence Community to ensure that the President's requirements for intelligence on a broad range of national security issues are met. In providing this support, Intelligence Programs works with other NSC offices to ensure that both intelligence and policy equities are represented objectively in NSC and interagency processes.
