The U.S. Census Bureau assists in collecting information on the AIDS pandemic in developing countries. It maintains a database of HIV/AIDS surveillance information. They have also produced: World Population Profile: 1998 With a Special Chapter Focusing on HIV/AIDS in the Developing World

Department of State is the cabinet-level agency responsible for the nation's foreign affairs, under the leadership of Secretary Madeleine Albright.

• Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, Division of Emerging Infectious Diseases - assists the State Department in addressing the global epidemic
• The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs published the 1999 U.S. International Response To HIV/AIDS on March 16, 1999

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is the Federal government's lead agency for providing HIV prevention and care in other countries.

• The Population, Health & Nutrition Division (PHN) administers all child survival and population control programs, including the program on HIV/AIDS

The International AIDS Society represents scientists working on AIDS across the world, and helps sponsor the International Conferences on AIDS. In between the International AIDS Conferences, the IAS is co-sponsoring the Regional Conferences on HIV/AIDS in Africa, in Asia and the Pacific, and in Latin America. IAS also arranges Symposia on clinical management and prevention in connection with these Conferences.

The XII International Conference on AIDS was entitled "Bridging the Gap" and was held in Geneva, Switzerland (1998)

The XIII International Conference on AIDS will be held in Durban, South Africa (2000)

United Nations Programme on AIDS (UNAIDS) provides information on the global community's response to AIDS, including up-to-date statistics on the global pandemic.

The World Bank provides loans and grants to assist countries across the world address the AIDS pandemic. Its site inludes a summary of its AIDS programs, as well as information on the following:
