"My suggestion for the time capsule is a DNA chip…...These chips do look
back
by embodying a century of largely American research in genetics. At the
beginning of the twentieth century no one knew what genes were made of or how they encode information. The chips also look forward to the completion of the Human Genome Project and all that means for health and science in the next century. Besides all that, they are small."
