Model of first transistor developed at Bell Telphone Laboratories
"One item of outstanding importance is the transistor discovered in 1948
by John Bardeen, Walter H. Brattain, and William Shockley at the Bell
Telephone Laboratories. This was the basis for what we're now calling ‘the information age.' As a hope for the future, I believe attaining a basic understanding of cognitive learning would be an outstanding achievement for society. This is outside of my field but that doesn't alter my belief that it is an important aspiration."
