General Partner
The Mayfield Fund

Kevin A. Fong, a general partner of the Mayfield Fund, specializes in forming and investing in early-stage companies in the communications and software sectors. The Mayfield Fund is a private venture capital partnership based in Menlo Park, California.

Mr. Fong is a director of the Community Foundation of Silicon Valley and one of two co-chairs of Silicon Valley 2 (SV2), a new fund created for young professionals that promotes intelligent, active and effective giving to nonprofit organizations. He has worked with the community foundation to establish a new regional initiative to increase and promote corporate and individual giving among Silicon Valley residents.

Mr. Fong serves on the boards of the Western Association of Venture Capital and Networld/InterOp. He is also a columnist for Network World and has worked in management, marketing and technical engineering capacities for several companies. Mr. Fong also acquired entrepreneurial experience at DAVID Systems, a venture-backed start-up.

Mr. Fong holds an MBA and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
